LA RIOJA, CYCLING & WINE

La Rioja is ideal for combining cycling and wine tourism, with family-run and modern wineries, vineyards, and charming villages. Discover its cultural heritage, routes, activities, and gastronomic offerings.

Enjoy the variety of wineries in Rioja Alavesa! Visit traditional wineries where wine is still made using the same methods as decades ago, as well as the most innovative ones designed by renowned architects.

The region is known for its picturesque landscapes and historic villages, making it a popular tourist destination that you shouldn't miss. The connection to the land has shaped the character of its inhabitants, hardworking people who know how to enjoy life and welcome visitors with open arms.

The climate is characterized by significant temperature variations. The Cantabrian Mountains protect it from the cold, damp north winds that come from the Basque Country. Winters are harsh, with temperatures that can drop below freezing, and summers are hot, reaching over 30ºC.

Any time of year is a good time to visit La Rioja, but without a doubt, its natural beauty is at its peak during autumn and spring, with mild and very pleasant temperatures.

This trip will consist of a 4-stage route, covering between 70 and 100 km per day. It's a route designed for cycling enthusiasts, but also includes other aspects such as enjoying good food and drink or relaxing in local hotels.
